New Challenge over at The Crafting Musketeers!!

Hey there crafters!!
Apologies as I am a little late with my post!!  I have not been well...but I am now on the mend so catching up with crafting duties :)
Exciting news!! A brand new challenge has started over at The Crafting Musketeers
Decemebr challenge number 8 has the theme of " Layer it up" with a fabulous sponsor this month....HunkoryDory!! just look at these goodies!!

Here's a little bit about our sponsor this month!
The story began back in 1990 at a humble little wool and needlecraft shop in Preston, Lancashire. One day, the owners of the shop, Ann and David Newhouse bought some peel-off stickers to add greetings to handmade cards. Ann and David were quickly hooked on this new idea, and decided to extend the offerings of their wool and needlecraft shop into something far bigger.
In 2002, Ann and David introduced Cardcraft Plus as a mail order company which allowed customers to order products direct to their door. However, they soon began to find it difficult to source enough quality products to fill their regular catalogues.
The in-house catalogue designers were also crafters, and had shown a real interest in designing their own papercraft products which quickly became best-selling items for Cardcraft Plus.
The passion for crafting ran in the family, and soon enough, sons Adam and Daniel jumped on board to help the family business flourish. Before long, fellow retailers had begun to enquire about stocking these innovative new products and so, in 2007, Hunkydory Crafts was born as a card making supplies and materials wholesaler.
Over recent years, Hunkydory Crafts has grown to become the UK's premier papercraft manufacturer, supplying retailers across the globe with the latest trends in craft. New collections are regularly showcased on Create & Craft and Ideal Shopping television in the UK, where Anne-Marie Catterall and her talented team can be found demonstrating all that Hunkydory Crafts has to offer.
Cardcraft Plus is still established as a mail order company today, and proudly stocks all the latest Hunkydory products amongst the best in craft supplies from around the world. The humble little wool and needlecraft shop in Preston is now known as Inspirations, an award-winning 10,000 square ft craft superstore.
So....theres the story about HunkyDory!
Come on then crafters ! join us in our last challenge of 2013!! can you believe it! where has this year gone!
For my DT card this month I chose to do a decoupaged card for my "Layer It Up" theme, printed from the Me to You CD rom, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cd, this cute little bear is just sooooo gorgeous!!
so dont delay crafters get your entries in, you can check out the rest of the design Teams inspiration and enter just  HERE!!
I look forward to checking out all your yummy makes!!

Exciting Sneaky Peak !!!-" peek a boo case "

Good evening crafters!! I have something VERY exciting to share with you all.... but shhhh it's supposed to be a secret!
La Pashe have only been working on ANOTHER fantastic cd for you all....but...this one is EXTRA special!
La Pashe have teamed up with Adela Rossol from Creations by AR, to bring you lucky crafters a cd rom with 30...yes 30!! amazing 3D templates for you in both SVG and PDF format !! I know... amazing!! so whether you are a hand cutter or use a cutting machine, you can get get cracking straight away with the most beautiful boxes and 3D projects you can imagine! and whats more if you are attending the NEC this thursday, friday Saturday or Sunday and drop by the La Pashe stand G40 you will be lucky enough to pick up your copy for a fantastic price of £19.99 before it is available on line a week or so later!! so ....are you ready for a snaky peak???
The FIRST CDrom  ( clock how i said FIRST!!!) is titled
Spring & Summer 3D Templates
How adorable does this CD look! and thats just from the front image lol...you just know from first look your going to want to dive straight in!, now as I am EXTREMELY lucky to be on the Design Team  ( I still have to pinch myself at times!) we were all lucky enough to each work with a different template, I had the very yummy "Peek a boo box" template, now crafters, as you know we are only limited by our own imagination, and even though this CD rom quite clearly states "Spring and Summer"..I of course at this time of year had to turn my little project into something Christmassy!..well... it is only 50 sleeps till santa!
and here it is!.......................
I LOVE this box!!! how amazing would these be as place settings at Christmas! a little tag attached to the handle with the guests name, and inside filled with some favourite chocolates or little gift!, I decided to pop a little bit of snowflake acetate into the little window of my box and pop in some yummy toffees!
But already I am popping with ideas! you could print ANYTHING you wanted onto your card stock before you cut out your template!...A simple Thank you message, Scarletts First Birthday!, John's 40th birthday Bash!, Bride and Groom Names, as Favour boxes these would be totally amazing!,  as a gift to your neighbours with From The Brethericks! lol , now I don't have a cutting machine that takes SVG files....YET! so i printed out the PDF format and hand cut my box with no trouble at all,
The other girls on the DT all had a different template so please do stop by and check out their makes...but if you want the BIG show and tell then you simply MUST stop by Jak's blog right ...HERE!!
I will be making a bee line to get my CD this weekend so make sure you get in there first as these are going to go like hot cakes!!
oooh I have waffled quite a lot there! lol so I'm off for a nice cuppa tea!! please let me know what you think!!!
Hugs

A3- supersized birthday postcard!

Good evening everyone!! well, today I have had another wonderful day off work...so I chilled..made christmas cards..watched a Christmas film!! I'm just about to log off for the evening to go and watch some tv with my beautiful daughter, but before I go, I thought I would share a recent projct with you all. A little while ago, a lovely friend of mine asked me if I could make something for her Mum's 60th birthday off all the family, ...now i would LOVE to say this was my idea, but the lovely Kate came up with it herself. She asked if I could make an A3 sized postcard, and if all the family members sent me a photo and a message, could I create some mini poloaroid style snaps with each persons message on!!, ooooh  I thought! I love a challenge so we got our heads together so I knew exactly what she had in mind and this is what i came up with

This is the front, I used 2 x A3 pieces of Crafters Companion pearlescent card stock and a white piece of A3 mount board- Kate wanted the postcard so her Mum could stand it on the mantle but we wanted it to be quite strong so I sandwhiched the mountboard in the centre with the CC pearlescent card stock on each side. For this project I printed on the reverse of the pearlescent cardstock- if you havent tried this you MUST, as it prints beautifully! its not only for the shimmery side folks:)
Kate emailed me each persons photo and message, and  I popped them into my graphic pregramme- MCS and made them into polaroid style pictures, I printed these onto photo paper, then once cut out I placed on my board to decide where I wanted them, as Kate had asked if I could add some bunting from each picture with some little birds on too! once I had arranged them so I had a good idea where to print the birds, I then printed a lovely pale yellow background with pretty pink and blue birds dotted around....then the reverse!!

We wanted the postcard - as large as it was- to still look just like a postcard, so...as they were all going away on holiday for their Mum's 60th birthday to their holiday home, I printed this address the  popped a photo on the left of their mum that I faded out,( at kates request!) and printed the family message
I created a post mark, by using the circle text feature in MCS, and the post date?? It of course had to be Kate's Mum's date of birth!
Once I had glued the front and back pieces together it was time to add 3D foam pads to each photo and pop into place, I then used the LaLa Land Die- heart garland to join my photo's together, I really did enjoy making this piece! and will definately me making more, maybe some in  A5 and A4 size, I think its a lovely idea for a birthday suprise from all the family, and a lovely keepsake, with all the children and grandchildren on.
Well it's time I be off! I hope you like my postcard and I would LOVE to hear what you think
Happy carfting folks!

Ice Pond Skating- La Pashe

Good evening bloggers and crafters!!....how is your Christmas Crafting coming along?? As all us crafters know Christmas is our BUSIEST time of year!! and it can be hard with sooooo many cards to make to think of new designs and ideas, to try and keep coming up with new images to keep our crafting fresh and current! As a crafter who sells her cards and also attends a Christmas Fair I have many friends who come to me every year for their special family and friends cards, so I'm always looking to see what I can offer that is new and different from what I created the year before!
This year we have had some fabulous new launches from La Pashe and they have definately not dissapointed us once again with the new launch only a couple of weeks ago of their newest cd rom The Christmas Box

The card I am sharing tonight was another of my DT cards made for the exciting launch on Create and Craft, I can't begin to say how exciting it is to be part of this DT, and to have the opportunity to work with the extremely talented Jak Heath and our amazingly talented ladies on our DT !!! I LOVE it! and I am as proud as punch to display my DT badge with extreme pride on my blog!..ok i'm gushing...on with the card!
SO!... for this design called- Ice Pond Skating I used the pre printed sheet, that you can find just ....HERE!....69p!! (this still amazes me!) and I also used one of the co-ordinating background papers found on the cd rom.
I started with a A4 sheet of 300gsm card, scored and folded to create an A5 card blank,

I mat and layered the backing paper on to silver mirri card and to the left wrapped some very luscious silver ribbon tied in a knot,
I made up my decoupage pieces, layered onto silver and secured in place,  Die cut some silver skates and printed the sentiments- Let It Snow and Christmas Wishes,..this is where you need to add your snow!! LOTS of lovely glitter!!  ...then.... for the exciting part!! I took a piece of A4 snow flake acetate and created a wrap, to do this I cut my sheet to 24cm, scored a fold at both ends measuring  2cm each, along each 2cm fold I placed red extra strong tape, and carfully attached each flap to the underside of my main card topper.

I then attached this to my A5 card blank! I Love this!! so different and it looks like it is snowing :) now....you can't buy these cards in the shop! and that is one of the MANY things that I love about hand made cards!
So I hope you like my card and please check out the web site right HERE! for all your Christmas supplies!!
Right I have waffled enough! I will be back with more soon! Good night everyone!!

Heart "Felt" Wishes from Sheena Douglas

Good morning crafters!, today see's a new DT post with some exciting new products!
This month for JB- Crafting Supplies I will be working with some new stamps available now just  HERE on Julie's on-line store. The first stamp set is a collection by Sheena Douglas's A Little Bit Festive range, called "Heart Felt Wishes"
These stamps are really lovely! and so easy to work with!, I have so many designs rolling around in my head! but first off I decided to create a simple card using the 3 main images from the set,
I created a card showing the 3 designs hanging from a christmas tree, and used a a Christmas Pine Die to cut some lovely green pine needles, arranged them to the left of my card placing some flat and a few on 3D foam pads then arranged my images!, The stamps are simple and quick to colour in, and are perfect for not only accomplished colourists but perfect for beginners and children too!
A little dash of satin green ribbon and the cutest of sentiments that comes with the set! and voila, one quick Christmas card that is sure to stand out on your mantle piece this christmas tme!
Next Saturday I will  create something using my next stamp set that Julie has been so kind enough to send me for my DT work so untill next time....

The digi stamp I chose to work with is called "Halloween Journal" and you can find it right ...HERE!! I printed my image in three different sizes, cut out and  used my promarkers to colour in, making a place mat, coaster and then a napkin holder by taking a strip of green card about 1.5 inches wide securing around a napkin and popping the coloured image into place :) For the name place setting I simply popped the image into my graphic programme.... enlarged, then using a "Digital Punch" I selected only the wooden sign, that I printed, coloured and folded in half then cut out to make a standing place card. The Snowman

Happy Saturday Morning Crafters!!!!
Today I am sharing my 3rd card made using the fabulous Crafters Companion CDrom "The Snowman and Snowdog" available now from  JB-Crafting Supplies, so I thought..mmm.. I've made a card using elements from the decoupage section..then last week I used the Snowglobe section,.... so what for this week? there really is so much to choose from crafters you will be spoilt for choice! well after much deliberation and changing my mind as it is ALL fabulously wonderful! I settled on using something from the Card Companions section!
These are brilliant, as each design prints out onto one A4 sheet and has everthing you need to create a card, there will be a backing paper, topper, sometimes decoupage, ribbons and bows, buttons etc all coordinating :) I loved the image I chose as I think the colours are really soft and gentle
I decided to create my own main backing paper with this card, this is something I LOVE to do and is really simple, I selected the "Snowman" image and popped into my graphic Programme- MCS, I enlarged, cropped then faded it to around 50%- voila! one matching background paper! I chose to back onto gold mirri card and punched out some lovely gold snowflakes, each with a gold gem in the centre, a little blue bow to coordinate and pull out the blue from the background, and for my Decoupaged Snowman, as this is only one layer I wanted him to stand out a little more, so used Crafter companion Gold glitter spray to make him "Shimmer"!!
For my insert I popped the backing paper again into MCS enlarged, cropped and faded and popped on a Christmas verse
This CD is definately one you need to add to your collection!
Happy crafting
