Just Inklined - Post Office

Happy Wednesday crafters!!

Today see's my weekly DT card for Just Inklined. This week I have chose a fabulously drawn digi stamp called "Post Office" that you can pick up in store just HERE! Now after I coloured it in ...which I LOVED doing....I couldn't decide how to mount it onto a card? then from now where it shouted .....DISTRESS ME!!!! I have no idea where this little voice cam from because I have to admit distressing cards is NOT my strong point....in fact it even scares me a little! and is not something I would normally CHOOSE to do? but ....it just seems right for this image, I was picturing in my head an image of "The Good Old Days" where we used to go to the post office weekly and was thinking of this quaint little post office back in the day in some lovely little village!, SO! I distressed the edges of my image, used a tiny bit of Tim Holtz walnut stain on the edges ( not too much mind this stuff can be lethal if you overload ya sponge!! ...speaking from experience!) then matted on to a piece of distressed Kraft card from Crafters companion that is a totally amazing card stock! look at how clear and crisp my sentiment has printed on to it? flipping brilliant stuff, if you want to try it check it out on the web site just HERE!

Then using Antique Keys Embossing folder again from Crafers Companion I created a background that I simply distressed and matted onto a dark brown card then popped onto a card base made with the same Kraft card. 

my image I coloured in with my Spectrum Noir Pens ...I used 38 colours, probably didn't need to lol but i could ...so i did, i wont list them but if you want them just ask!

I then printed a fitting sentiment for mt "Old" card distressed the edges popped into place and finally wrapped some string around, I started out thinking....what have I done...Nicole...do you know what you are doing??? But I like it now its finished! 

which is kinda a good job really !
