Sheena Inspiration post meets COLOURISTA!

Hey crafters!! I'm a tad late with my Sheena inspiration post this time around!!! it's been a bit manic in my craftroom! BUT I am here now! and just in time as my lovely Teamie Jackie is due to post hers on the 19th!!! so.... what have I decided to do for this one...well as my carfty buddies all know I am lucky enough to be on the Sheena Team and the Crafters Companion team.... and I'm also sure you all MUST be aware of the amazing colourista launch that happened only a week or so ago! well I was lucky to be picked for the colourista team too!!!!!!!!!!!!! crazy I know lol somebody pinch me!,
so...... I got my thinking cap on, and as part of the colourista launch we were trying to come up with ideas of how we can use our coloured pages, we spend so much time colouring them in..... it's a crime to then leave them in a colouring book on your shelf! so we have been thinking of ideas to inspire you of how you can use them, Thats where Sheena comes in! the DOTD lanuch was one of my favourite launches, its amazing! I fell in love with the Skull stamp and die set, .....I got my thinking cap on didnt I..... why not use your coloured pages to die cut with!!  I chose one of the pages from the Eastern Promise book and got it all coloured up! , and it worked beautifully!! what do you think? popped in a 3D box frame, ...this pattern makes the most fantastic Sugar Skull designs!!
this turned out much brighter in real life!! but I finished early hours haha and I had to get it in the post! but you get the idea!! I love this so much!!

dont you think this pattern suits this design PERFECTLY!!!
as always guys thank you thank you thank you.... for stopping by my blog

Now we all know adult colouring has been around a while, and its literally taken off!  it is so incredibly popular! suitable for any age and not only is it fun to do, its a brilliant tool to use for stress, anxiety, recuperation therapy the list goes on there are a multitude of reasons and situations where adult colouring has been used and has excelled. ...because its fun,...because you lose yourself in your art work, because its relaxing and calming..... and did I mention FUN!!!??
so ...whats on the way, well a range of brand new colouring mediums, we have the colourista pens and pencils, totally gorgeous, the most gorgeous colouring books!! and what makes these different? well I'll tell you !! the quality of the paper in these brand new books is unbelievable, superb outstanding quality, if you are already use adult colouring books then try these pads, because you will be amazed. the blending you can achieve because of the paper quality will blow your mind! I have been on the Crafters Companion team now for 2 and a half years Sheena's team almost 2 this Christmas coming  so trust me i have done my fair share of colouring whilst on this team ( not to mention my many years colouring previously) and I have never worked with anything like it! and as if that alone isn't enough, they have brought out a foiled paper pad and a glitter paper pad. you'll hear more about all this closer to launch and as the team get colouring and sharing. there will also...wait for it as this bit is just over the top..... a usb of colouring files!!! for you to print on to your own chosen media over and over and over again...excited? we are! so if you are a beginner.... where best to start but with the best products....and if you are an advanced colourer ...this is what you have been waiting for!

I was extremely honoured to be selected with a few of my design team ladies to have the opportunity to work with these products before launch!, what we hope to do is bring you loads on inspiration, but have you ever thought what you are going to do with all these coloured pages? that's where we want you to take your colouring to the next level, and create stunning, projects using your pages. Here are a couple of mine to show you what 'i've been up to....
FIRST UP just two of the colouring pages from the colouring books , first one from the black and white line pad the second from the glitter pad, effortless blending on these pages!!

then how about making something from them... how about an....interchangeable phone case!
very easy to make, just pick up a clear phone case...this one was £1.50!! draw a template, cut out, colour up and I've added a layer of gloss modpodge for added strength, then how about those funky free standing MDF letters you can buy!, this is done using the glitter pad AMAZING in real life!
again super easy!! I painted the back and sides first with my chosen colour, draw round the letters on my page, cut out, coloured up and used Modpodge again to glue on to the MDF and then a coat on top to seal. You could create names, inspiration words, in ANY colour combination to suit your room, or give as the perfect gift!! now I have more to share but .... be patient lol I will be blogging more over the next few days so please pop back, and don't forget go and sign up to the FREE colouring course NOW!! hope to see you there!!

Sheena Dragon Fly Dance

Good morning all!, Well us Inkoids have all started to do 2  blog posts each month using Sheenas gorgeous range of products, revisiting older collections to give some inspiration, we sometimes forget our old stash when new collections come along! we are all taking it in turns.... our fabulous Design Team coordinator Donna has whipped up a rota to get us organised and today it's MY TURN!!
so......I was looking through all my stamps deciding which set to revisit, when I happenned upon...
Dragon Fly Dance- Check it out on the website just HERE!!
a gorgeous stamp, I love Dragonflies so pretty. This stamp also has a coordinating die too as it is part of Sheenas Perfect partners collection, you can visit the full range just HERE!!
but for this little CAS style card I decided I just wanted to use the stamp.
Quite simple to create , I have a circle mask and stencil set, so first off I used the circle mask, spraying with stick n spray to hold in place whilst I inked around the edges, once happy with that I removed the circle mask and popped over the circle stencil, so the inking was then covered leaving the circle space in the centre free....I stamped my 2 Dragonflies, and covered up with drawing gum ( amazing stuff this ! if you havent tried it please give it a go, its really usefull great for this tecqnique and lasts months!! here you go if you want to try it pebeo-drawing-gum-masking-fluid-45ml-p26259
once the drawing gum was dry, and keeping the stencil in place, I inked around the circle,
then rubbed out the drawing gum and coloured up my dragon flies with Spectrum Sparkle pens! you can find those just here on the website http://spectrum-noir-sparkle-pens-c7689
and here you go! A little simple mat and layer popped onto a white card base
and a quick simple pretty card !

next up on our blogging Journey is my lovely Inkoid teamie Alison, on Monday 1st August, you can find her blog right over http://cardsandcatswithali.blogspot.co.uk/
I do hope you will pop over and see what she has in store for you.

THE INKOIDS with their debut album .... FLEATHER !!

Hey crafters!! so now time to share my favourite make from Sheenas Rock Launch..... I can't tell you the fun I had making this! I cried I laughed that much...why you ask? making up the song titles of course!! So I had made a few band themed cards .... you saw my singles card.... now our FIRST Album!, brilliant!!  if you know someone who loves music or is in a band! this would be perfect, just think of the fun you could have coming up with song titles that suited them !

THE INKOIDS ... Debut Album FLEATHER!

so first the album cover...... I used a sheet of Sheena card and printed my wording, then cut it to size and stamped the drum stamp in the centre, coloured up with distress inks, then used the stars and burst stamp from the collection, a little bit of a bokeh technique too! added Pebeo foils. jobs a good un.....then the inside!!!
isnt it fab!! by base card is an 7 x 7 black card base, I popped on the front cover then to make the 2 side pockets i just printed my song titles on my pc, stamped inked and coloured up, then simply stuck the 3 edges down on each side, made 2 records using a large circle die, or as I did using my circle scissor, added white ink to the edges more foils etc, and done, sooooo what do you think of my song choices!!
next up I decided to make one of those A boards you see out side venues advertising THE BAND!

Very easy to make! but if you were having a music themed party how cool would these be as decorations!
I hope you like my favourite make of this launch!! and thanks so much for stopping to take a look!

Sheenas Rock 'n' Roll stamp Collection

Good evening everyone!, oh my gosh how hot is it!! I'm roasting in my craft room ....talk about roasting I have a raost in the oven too! I must be bonkers in this heat lol oh well.....
sharing some more fabulous Sheena makes this evening, with the amazinglyfabulous
ROCK 'n' ROLL stamp Launch!! what can I say......I always seem to be repeating myself in these posts BUT... they really are amazing!! and of course another favourite!! 6 stamp sheets in the set and to check the stamps out on line just pop on over to the Crafters Companion website below!..
right then here we go, I'll share a few now and a couple in the week save bombarding you with a mamouth post again!! ...
so for this first card I have used the silhouette rock band stamp and the crowd hand border stamp, how cool are these ! I created a stage simply by blending my distress ink darker at the bottom, you need to ground your figure stamps or they just appear to be floating lol, then for the background I wanted it to look like the bright lights!! so I blended a few different coloured inks and then created a Bokeh effect for the white circles, this is simply done buy using a circle template and white ink, then I used one of the small star stamps in the set to dot around and add a bit of interest, on this card I also used the Pebeo foils and glue, THIS STUFF IS FAB!! check it out ...HERE!!
Next up one of my favouite cards, so here I used the guitar, mic, amplifier and swirl stamps from the set, and created myself a couple of singles ( showing my age there!)  oh also the sentiment stamps too!
Tunnel card next! this is the same principal as my skull card that i'm going to do a step out for so I will do this one too as I've also been asked ( I am so behind!!! SORRY if you are waiting)
Simple but effect card next, I loved these Flying V guitars SO ROCK! I created a lovely bold background with my Spectrum Aquatints, and then created a sort of guitar stand to have all my cool guitars hooked up to!  the R stamp in the centre is also in this collection, I just splodged it into some HOT embossing powder!
thats my first 4...but....I have some really cool ones coming up tomorrow....I created an album OMG I loved it , I very nearly didnt send it off!!! ..you'll see what I mean tomorrow
thanks so much for stopping by!!!!
Love

Sheena Douglass "Day Of The Dead"

Hey guys! I'm BACK, with a bit more catch up!! ......DAY OF THE DEAD!! what an absolutely FANTASTIC collection!! Totally missing I thought from the craft world and I just love it all!! Collection of Stamps and coordinating dies from our Sheena for this launch, if you want to check them out you can over on the Crafters Companion website just ....HERE!!
So we have 8 fabulous stamps and 6 die collections...where to start!! The Inkoids had so much fun with this launch, I checked out on line the "Day of the Dead" festival to get a feel and some inspiration!!...my favourite just HAS GOT to be the Skull, its fantastic , great size too, would work brilliantly in mixed media, infact our DT Coordinator Donna made a fantastic canvas, you need to go check it out!!
So here you go....... it's a loooooooong post!
here is THE SKULL!! isnt it fabulous!! I had so many ideas with this I just didnt know how to clolour in first...so I made 9 on a baord haha, Now the skull comes plain its not decorated as you see here, I've used some of the stamps that come in the collection and also used a fine line black pen to draw some of my own! so...endless combinations here!! this is also the Skull I teamed up with the skull on Sheenas new Torn collection I posted a couple of days ago!

little close up shot!! Do you like my eyes on the centre one!! love it, so simple just used the waste from the die cut and drew them myself very easy
and here's the beautiful lady! Adore this stamp, she doesnt
come with her face painted, I added that myself!!here is
the stamp so you can see how she comes..
...beautiful yes?! but I added the iconic makeup that is so well known with this festival, then her hat, is a stamp and die also in this collection that goes with another set!! worked perfectly I thought
Next up the skull again, this time as a floating skull, I made a diarama card with a piece of acetate in the centre that i stuck my skull to, gives the appearance it is floating!! These flowers are in the collection too!!

..... More skulls... and how amazing is that music stamp!!! also in the collection!
The couple... went bold and colourful on this one....unusual for me right??? hahahahha
next.....i LOVED MAKING THIS!! I didnt see it on tv which was a shame though lol but it was so much fun to make, and I am sooooo making a few to decorate the house when I have an halloween party!!

even the cat and dog are in on the act!!
...last but by no means least the card I was asked so much about was my tunnel floating skull card with the eyes that FOLLOW you!! I will be doing a step out for this card with much better lighted photos that this one shows!! because of the tunnel the eyes that are only on the base layer give the illusion of following you its so cool!!, will get the step out for this one done asap ...and I also need to make one for my shelf lol
right folks thats it!! Check out the rest of the Inkoids for some more inspiration and our Pinterest board too
thanks for stopping by! would love to know what you think so please do leave a comment!!
Hugs
