Good evening everyone!! well, today I have had another wonderful day off work...so I chilled..made christmas cards..watched a Christmas film!! I'm just about to log off for the evening to go and watch some tv with my beautiful daughter, but before I go, I thought I would share a recent projct with you all. A little while ago, a lovely friend of mine asked me if I could make something for her Mum's 60th birthday off all the family, ...now i would LOVE to say this was my idea, but the lovely Kate came up with it herself. She asked if I could make an A3 sized postcard, and if all the family members sent me a photo and a message, could I create some mini poloaroid style snaps with each persons message on!!, ooooh I thought! I love a challenge so we got our heads together so I knew exactly what she had in mind and this is what i came up with

This is the front, I used 2 x A3 pieces of Crafters Companion pearlescent card stock and a white piece of A3 mount board- Kate wanted the postcard so her Mum could stand it on the mantle but we wanted it to be quite strong so I sandwhiched the mountboard in the centre with the CC pearlescent card stock on each side. For this project I printed on the reverse of the pearlescent cardstock- if you havent tried this you MUST, as it prints beautifully! its not only for the shimmery side folks:)

Kate emailed me each persons photo and message, and I popped them into my graphic pregramme- MCS and made them into polaroid style pictures, I printed these onto photo paper, then once cut out I placed on my board to decide where I wanted them, as Kate had asked if I could add some bunting from each picture with some little birds on too! once I had arranged them so I had a good idea where to print the birds, I then printed a lovely pale yellow background with pretty pink and blue birds dotted around....then the reverse!!
We wanted the postcard - as large as it was- to still look just like a postcard, so...as they were all going away on holiday for their Mum's 60th birthday to their holiday home, I printed this address the popped a photo on the left of their mum that I faded out,( at kates request!) and printed the family message
I created a post mark, by using the circle text feature in MCS, and the post date?? It of course had to be Kate's Mum's date of birth!
Once I had glued the front and back pieces together it was time to add 3D foam pads to each photo and pop into place, I then used the LaLa Land Die- heart garland to join my photo's together, I really did enjoy making this piece! and will definately me making more, maybe some in A5 and A4 size, I think its a lovely idea for a birthday suprise from all the family, and a lovely keepsake, with all the children and grandchildren on.
Well it's time I be off! I hope you like my postcard and I would LOVE to hear what you think
Happy carfting folks!
